Ambika Prasad Singh, a revered educator and ex-headmaster of KotalPokhar High School in Sahibganj, Jharkhand, left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew him. Diagnosed with cholelithiasis in January 1995, his health took a turn for the worse when carcinoma of the gallbladder was detected. Seeking treatment at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi, a misinterpreted consultation with an anesthesiologist led to a severe heart attack on January 13, 1995. Present during this critical moment were his sons, Dr. Shivkant Prasad and Dr. Bijay Kumar, who had just completed their final MBBS exams. Despite repeated warnings of his deteriorating condition, the treating surgeon failed to heed Dr. Bijay's concerns. As fate would have it, Ambika Prasad suffered a cardiac arrest at 11 am, compounded by a previous cerebral vascular accident (CVA) and atrial fibrillation. A delayed consultation with a cardiologist and intracardiac adrenaline administration proved futile.
In his final moments, Ambika Prasad shared poignant words with Dr. Bijay: "Those who die in Kasi (Varanasi) go to heaven... Help others, save lives, and repay the loan written in my red diary." Ambika Prasad Singh passed away at 3:15 pm on January 13, 1995.

Early Life & Education Born in the quaint village of Bhandra Pokhar, Nalanda, I embarked on my academic journey at bhandrapokhar ( Class 1-2) Dhurgaon (Class 4) and KotalPokhar (Class 7-10).
